Newly Obsessing Over - Summer 2018

Hiiiiiii! Remember like 2 years ago when I told y’all what I was obsessing over? I’m back to bring you round 2!!! This is what I’ve been obsessing over as of lately. We’ll call it the End of Summer 2018 addition. My summer favorites. Summer vibes. Although they have nothing to do with the specifics of summer.

My new alternative to coffee in the mornings! I switched to match to lower my caffeine intake to help with anxiety. Matcha (because it contains L-Theanine) is known to give an “alert calm” as opposed to the “spike and crash” that coffee gives. Just what I need, lol. Plus it’s delicious with non-dairy milk. I make it at home with this matcha (I'm not saying this is the best quality but you can get at Costco) and homemade cashew milk (it’s seriously easy once you make it once!).

1 tsp of this matcha
2 tsp maple syrup
3/4 cup cashew milk or oat milk
3/4 cup water
2 tsp coconut oil (optional)
1 scoop collagen (optional)

Heat the milk and water. Then blend all ingredients for 30-ish seconds. Pour into your favorite mug. Take a photo. Instagram. Sip yum. To have it cold, just blend all the ingredients together and pour over ice!

The one from Starbucks is much sweater, but I don’t hate it :)

I just asked Chris… “what is something I’m obsessed with right now?” And he said “your cheese pasta.” FUNNY because I already had it on my list! I make it at least once a week if not more. Due to breastfeeding Roger and him having sensitivities, I can’t eat dairy or gluten. This has led to us eating at home a lot. Pros and cons to that but I’ve had to get more creative with my cooking. I use this sauce recipe for the “alfredo” sauce and chickpea pasta from @eatbanza (you can usually get at Costco or Thrive Market).

I didn’t know I could love a robot this much. HA! But seriously. It’s such a big time saver for me. Honestly a friend of ours recommended this one and said it had the best reviews. Pro = it climbs over things easily and doesn’t get stuck on rug corners or most anything. Con = It doesn’t have the longest battery life as other robot vacuums. I found it on sale on Amazon for $200. I would say it was DEFINITELY worth the investment. Like if you’re going to be getting a vacuum anyways, just go ahead and get one of these.

Cocokind Skincare

My new favorite skincare. All of their items have very MINIMAL & CLEAN ingredients. They’re also fair trade and organic. If I had to pick, my favorite product of theirs right now is the matcha moisturizer stick. It's made with only 3 ingredients. I use it mostly for chapstick (my fave) and they also recommend you put it under your eyes in the morning to reduce puffiness. I also use their facial cleansing oil, rosewater toner, golden elixirchia seed facial moisturizer, maitake rose highlighter and makeup primer drops

Have you hard of this? I’ve been loving them for a few years now and I still do. It’s so fun. Online healthy shopping and everything is discounted!! Plus if you play your cards right, every couple of days, they give away a free product if your order is $49+ (and you get free shipping)! So basically I add things to my cart throughout the month until it reaches $49+. Then I wait for a good freebie to come along and place my order on that day! It’s like savings jackpot to me! Free product, free shipping, and discounts on everything else. If you open your account through this link, you’ll get 25% off your first order and I’ll get $25 off my next order!

This website full of articles on health and wellness. I could spend hours on there a day learning new things. I get their emails and I follow them on Insta, so plenty of ways to be informed!

Honorable mentions:

- My new Honest Company diaper bag Chris gifted me!! I love it.
- Roger’s door jumper! It literally makes me crack up watching him bounce around in it.

Churn. Chardonnay from Trader Joe’s. My fave.

Cardio Kickboxing. I take the class at the new Life Time Fitness that opened by our apartment. It's fun because it mixes choreography and music with working out. It WEARS ME OUT, but it helps pass the workout time.

What I'm Newly Obsessing Over...

So I'm always excited about some new thing that I found or something I am trying out. I thought I would share a few of my favorites here. This may or may not become a regular thing. We shall see. ENJOY!

  1. The Five Minute Journal… I love the science behind learning to be grateful everyday. My husband and I have started to do this (almost) every morning and we have noticed a mental change. Check it out. Give it a shot.

  2. Foot Cardigan emails… I don’t need any new socks but seriously, their emails are the most clever, trendy and laughable way to communicate information. I read it twice. Who reads promotional emails twice through? They are also Dallas based!

  3. The new Bethel album. My friend walked down the isle at her wedding to the song "Pieces" and since then I have been listening to it on repeat.

  4. Alima Pure makeup! I love that their products are pure, honest (free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, phthalates, dimethicone, petroleum, talc, bismuth oxychloride, and nanoparticles). Also, their foundation brush - so soft.

  5. My Chvrches Pandora station. Dance and work and dance and work.

  6. I might be in love with dirty chai lattes (a chai latte with 2 shots of espresso) from Weekend Coffee. I must restrain myself.

  7. Marie Kondo’s tidying method. Our whole house has almost been completely tidied! Although, I haven't started talking to my clothes.

  8. And yes, I thought I would never say, Snapchat. How fun are the daily filters?! I'm on there as @rachaelcreative. You'll mostly just see pictures of my dog, #charliegirlthepup.

What new thing have you been into? I love hearing about new fun things! I hope everyone has a great week!
